Youth Festival kicks off at Koraput in Odisha

To explore hidden talents in the rural areas, a two-day Yuva Mahotsav (youth festival), organized by the District Cultural Centre (DCC), kicked off in the district headquarters town of Koraput in Odisha on Thursday.

Tribal dance Koraput Youth FestivalThe festival was inaugurated by the Koraput DCC secretary Pama Tudu.

The tribal youths from 10 blocks, two municipalities and one Notified Area Council (NAC) of the district are participating in the festival.

On the opening day of the festival, the youths performed Odissi, folk dance, one-act play and Hindustani vocal.

The star attraction of the day was the Darua dance of Gupteswar area of Boipariguda block, Kathi Nacha of Nandapur block and Dhemsa Nacha of Dasamantpur block.

The concluding day of the festival would feature a competition in musical instruments.

The two best groups in these two events would participate in the state level youth festival at Dhenkanal on November 13 and 14.
