Brahmapur, June 3:
Unknown assailants today killed a 34-year-old businessman at Padmapur village in Odisha’s Ganjam district, reports said.
Three suspects have been arrested in this connection, said police sources.
The body of businessman Chandra Kumar Nayak was found lying in a pool of blood on the main road of the village. The police have sent it for autopsy.
Nayak was killed while he was returning to his village from Badagada bazaar, police said.
The police suspect old enmity to be the reason behind the murder and are looking into the possible involvement of at least nine persons including five brothers of a family in the same village in the crime.
“We have arrested three brothers from the deceased’s village. Other accused persons however were absconding,” police said.
The arrested persons are Sarat Behera, Sushant Behera and Basanta Behera – the three brothers, police said.
