Bhubaneswar: Former BJD MLA Brundaban Majhi has resigned from the Biju Janata Dal (BJD).
The tribal leader, who represented Kuchinda assembly segment (2004-2009) in Sambalpur, failed to fetch a party ticket to contest in the upcoming polls.
“I have sent my resignation letter to party supremo Naveen Patnaik’s political secretary Gopabandhu Dash,” Majhi told media.
Sources said, the former MLA would join the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) tomorrow. The saffron party might field Majhi against BJD nominee Naba Kishore Das from Jharsuguda.
