A woman member of the banned CPI (Maoist) today surrendered before police in Odisha’s Koraput.
The member of the outlawed group identified as Puwala Acchama alias Laxmi surrender before DIG (South Western range) S Shyni at the district headquarters office here today.
Koraput Superintendent of Police, Charan Singh Meena, was also present on the occasion.
The 27-year-old hailing from Andhra Pradesh was a leader of the Koraput-Srikakulam division of the rebels and was carrying a cash award of Rs 4 lakh on her head.
The surrendered Red rebel will be rehabilitated as per the surrender and rehabilitation policy of the state, a police officer said.
