Tension erupted at the district headquarters hospital in Odisha’s Balasore district this morning after death of a young woman, who was admitted after suffering from ear pain.

Her family members have alleged that negligence in treatment led to her death following which they have filed a complaint with police.

According to reports, the deceased, identified as Bhagyashree Pati, hailing from Raipur village under Singla police limits in the district, was suffering from ear pain.

Following age old home remedy of ear pain, the family members had poured simmer oil in her ear, but in vain.

As the pain did not take a break rather increased after the home remedy, Bhagyashree was admitted to Langaleswar Primary Health Centre and was later shifted to the district headquarters hospital following increasing pain.

There she succumbed to her pain this morning while she was under observation.

However, the deceased’s family members created ruckus alleging that medical negligence led to her death.

Police reached the spot and took the situation under control.

Balasore ADMO Sasanka Sekhar Choudhury said that action will be taken on concerned officials if they are found guilty after investigations.
