Bhubaneswar, Apr 14:
A day after leaders cutting across party lines gunned for the head of Odisha Food Supplies and Consumer Welfare (FS &CW) Minister Sanjay Das Burma, the minister today broke his silence and refuted the allegations.
“Quite like the Madhabilata incident, this is also a conspiracy against me. I call upon those who are making allegations to provide supporting documents to back their claims. CBI is investigating the case and I have submitted necessary documents they expected from me. Let CBI complete the investigation. I will quit politics, if I am found guilty,” said Das Burma in the sidelines of Aahar launch event in Puri today.
On the other hand, after Leader of the BJD parliamentary party in Lok Sabha Bhartruhari Mahatab and Excise Minister Damodar Rout, BJD Sambalpur MP Nagendra Pradhan joined the ranks to take on Das Burma.
“Lord Ram banished mother Sita knowing that she was Sati simply because of allegations. Naveen keeps tracking every development and is monitoring the situation. Necessary action will be taken at right time. Anyone found guilty will be driven out from his ministry,” said Pradhan speaking to reporters today.
Opposition Congress and BJP also stepped up their attack against the minister after he made the statement.
“The Minister is talking about conspiracies. Everyone in this state knows who is conspiring here. After he got in the CBI net, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik flew New Delhi to meet Prime Minister Modi and arrange an escape route. Even senior BJP leaders have accepted that CBI investigation has been slow. This speaks volumes about the conspiracies,” said PCC Chief Prasad Harichandan.
“The Minister is demanding proof. Didn’t we release supporting documents when we made allegations of his connections with arrested chief of SLB Media and Entertainment Pvt Ltd Bairi Ganjan Das,” questioned BJP Vice President Samir Mohanty.
