A depression over south west Bay of Bengal has further intensified into deep depression following which rain or thundershower may occur at a few places over districts of south Odisha and at one or two places over districts of north Odisha in the next 24 hours.
As per regional Meteorological office here, a depression over the south west Bay of Bengal has intensified into a deep depression and moved further west-northwest today. It lay centered about 1,175 km southwest of Paradip.
Under the impact of this, gusty surface wind from northeasterly direction with speed reaching 30 kmph may prevail along south Odisha coast.
Fishermen on the south Odisha coast have been advised to be cautious while venturing into sea, it said.
Besides, Distant Cautionary Signal Number-One (DC-I) has been hoisted at Paradip and Gopalpur ports.
