Bhubaneswar: A low pressure area formed over north Bay of Bengal is likely to trigger heavy rainfall in several coastal districts of Odisha during the next 24 hours, informed Regional Meteorological Centre Director HR Biswas today.
The districts likely to experience heavy downpour in the next 24 hours are Puri, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Khurda, Ganjam and Bhadrak.
On the other hand, the Meteorological Centre issued heavy rain and thunderstorm warning for 9 districts– Dhenkanal, Jajpur, Bhadrak, Kendrapara, Jagatsinghpur, Cuttack, Khurda, Puri and Nayagarh till 5.45 pm today.
The low pressure might develop into a well marked low pressure in the next two to three days.
Rainfall is also likely to increase on July 20 and lash many places of coastal Odisha and few places of interior Odisha.
Fishermen have been advised not to venture into sea during the period.
