On December 9, the Additional District Medical Officer (ADMO) Baleswar Dr Bana Bihari Das Mohapatra had filed a case against Dr Ghosh at the Sahadevkhunta police station on the orders of the district collector.

During a raid by a Health department team on clinics and residences of doctors in the district headquarters town on November 28, a portable ultrasound machine was seized from a clinic owned by Dr Ghosh.

The team headed by Ranjita Patnaik had also seized another portable ultrasound machine from Kausalya Memorial nursing home owned by Dr Sudhir Kumar Ghosh. He was also booked under PCPNDT Act for violating the norms.

Notably, the use of such portable machine is banned since 2012.
