Supporting the cause of Gaan Sathis, Soumya Ranjan Patnaik today said that the development of villages can script a new Odisha.
He was addressing a rally of Gaan Sathis, who have been demanding permanent jobs and a minimum salary of 4,500.
Ptanaik said the skills of labourers should be enhanced to develop the state.
The rally, organised under the banner of Gaan Sathi Joint Coordination Committee, by slogan shouting agitators from almost all the districts culminates with a demonstration in front of the Assembly.
Their demands include regularisation of job, permanent appointment of workers in their respective panchayats with a monthly remuneration of Rs 4,500, repeal of five-member village coordinator panel and 200 working days to job card holders instead of 100.
