After winning the toss, Odisha skipper Subham Nayak elected to field.
Odisha bowlers took advantage of the seaming conditions as they dismissed both the openers with score at 46. Wickets fell at regular intervals as the Baroda batsmen found it difficult to score due to tight and disciplined bowling and finished the day at 159 for 4 at a run rate of 1.77 from 90 overs.
