Fine bowling by skipper Subham Nayak steered Odisha to an emphatic 7-wicket win against Tripura on the third and final day of the U-16 Vijay Merchant Trophy at Bidanasi Ground here on Wednesday.
The hosts, after taking a 43-run first innings lead after restricting Tripura innings to 218, won the match by 7 wickets after bundling out the visitors at 85 in their second innings.
Resuming at the overnight score at 5 for 1, Tripura were in dire straits as wickets fell at regular intervals.
Skipper Subham Nayak (4 for 36), Satyajit Sabat (2 for 14) and Dipti Bihari (2 for 5) plotted the Tripura collapse.
Needing 42 runs for victory, Odisha reached the target losing three wickets all of which were claimed by Niladri Bhowmik.
With this win, Odisha has got 6 points.
