A patient century by Shlok Desai, aided by useful contributions from the tail-enders helped Baroda put up a decent first innings total against Odisha on the second day of the Vijay Merchant U-16 tournament here on Monday.
Resuming at their overnight score at 159 for 4, Baroda began to consolidate their innings as the two overnight batsmen Desai and his partner Shivalik Sharma put up 91 runs for the fifth wicket.
After Sharma’s dismissal, Desai carried on with the tail-enders and scored a well-deserved century taking the team total to 326 all out.
For Odisha, Dipti Bihari was the pick of the bowlers taking 4 wickets while Harshit Rathor and Subham Nayak claimed three and two wickets respectively.
At close of play, Odisha were 7 without loss.
