Vigilance arrests Odisha SI taking Rs 10, 000 bribe

Bhubaneswar, Jan 7:

The Bhubaneswar division of Odisha vigilance department today arrested a Sub-Inspector (SI) rank officer of Jatni police station on charges of taking a bribe.

He was identified as Rakesh Samantaray, who had asked a person for Rs 10,000 bribe to quash a case lodged against him.

Samantaray was caught red handed by vigilance sleuths while he was in his office.

The vigilance team has arrested two Sub- Inspectors in the bribe case this month, one from Nandankanan police station and the other from Jatni police station today.
