A veterinary doctor was hacked to death by unidentified miscreants in Odisha’s Steel City today.
According to reports, six unidentified men hacked the medical professional to death in the official quarters. In the attack, his son was also critically injured and admitted to hospital.
At around 7.30 pm, the assailants entered his house and attacked the duo. While the deceased doctor aged around 62 has been identified as Balakrushna Majhi, his injured son has been identified as Dinabandhu aged around 22-23 years.
Balakrushna and Dinabandhu were rushed to Ispat General Hospital (IGH) where the former was declared dead on arrival. The youth is undergoing treatment at the hospital and his condition is stated to be critical.
The incident took place at Government Dairy Farm in Kuanrmunda area here.
After getting information, the Biramitrapur police reached the spot and begun investigation into the incident.
According to sources, an accused has been apprehended.
