Bhubaneswar, Dec 8:

Vanity bag of a woman containing diamond worth about Rs three lakh, Rs 10,000 in cash and an ATM card was looted at Biju Patnaik International Airport by an unidentified miscreant on Wednesday night.

According to reports, two sisters hailing from Rourkela identified as Neha Pansari and Minakshi Khandelwal arrived at Bhubaneswar yesterday night in an IndiGo flight from Coimbatore.

When the duo was at the terminal waiting for conveyance with luggage, somebody snatched the vanity bag of Neha and fled following which they raised an alarm.

Mild tension erupted at the spot for sometime following the brazen loot at a high security area.

The victim filed a case at Airfield police station last night about the theft following which police conducted an examination of CCTV footage but failed to find any clue.

“We failed to identify the miscreant as the place was crowded but investigations are on and the wrongdoer will be caught for sure,” said a police official.
