Bhubaneswar, Sept 3:
Somnath Parida, ex-Army medical officer, who had allegedly sliced his wife Ushashree into pieces on June 3 this year, filed a bail plea for the third time at the District and Sessions court here on Tuesday.
The doctor was arrested and forwarded to the court by the Commissionerate Police on charges of murdering his wife. “As the accused doctor is suffering from heart and cardiac disease and not getting sufficient treatment in the jail medical, he should get bail on the medical ground,” said Parida’s advocate Ashok Raj.
Notably, the Sub-Divisional Judicial Magistrate (SDJM) court here had rejected Parida’s bail plea twice before. Parida’s advocate had last appealed before the SDJM court for bail on August 6.
