Cuttack, Oct 2:
The Income Tax department has sealed the users account of the SCB Medical College and Hospital in Odisha for exceeding the limit of maximum deposit in such accounts.
Sources in the I-T department said that as per rules, the users account should have a deposit amount of less than Rs 1 crore, whereas the Hospital authorities had exceeded the limit.
It may be mentioned that the concerned bank authorities had earlier reminded the hospital authorities about this after which the latter had withdrawn Rs 7 crore from the users account and diverted it to the hospital’s savings account.
But as the I-T officials during their recent verification of the user’s account had found a deposit of over Rs 1 crore and seized the account.
As a result, several outsourcing agencies have failed to pay salaries to their employees.
