Bhubanewsar, Dec 9:
The Commissionerate Police (CP) on Monday received the ballistic report of the seized live bullets from American engineer William Michael which were sent to the state forensic science laboratory for test earlier.
The test was undertaken to ascertain the claim of the accused William that he had brought the bullets from his homeland.
Deputy Commissioner of Police Nitinjeet Singh said, “We have received the ballistic report from the forensic laboratory which proves that the bullets that the William possessed were manufactured in the US .”
Singh refused to share details of the report saying he had only had a cursory glance at the report.
The local court will take the final decision about William, who is still in the city, after the ballistic report is produced before it by the CP.
On October 21, the Sessions court after hearing the bail plea of William granted him conditional bail against a surety deposit of Rs 50,000 and directed him to surrender his passport and visa to the SDJM court.
William was arrested on September 18 by the CP on charges of illegal possession of eight .22 mm live bullets in his luggage during a routine check at the Biju Patnaik Airport.
