New Delhi, June 3:
US Defence Secretary Ashton Carter, who is on a three-day visit to India, on Wednesday met Prime Minister Narendra Modi, ahead of signing of a new defence framework agreement.
Carter earlier met Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar, with whom he will sign the agreement that will strengthen India-US defence relations.
He also met External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj and National Security Adviser Ajit Doval.
Earlier, Carter laid a wreath at the Amar Jawan Jyoti memorial at India Gate, the World War I monument. This is Carter’s first visit to India as defence secretary.
Carter, who arrived in Visakhapatnam on Tuesday, has visited the Eastern Naval Command and the indigenous stealth frigate, INS Sahyadri. (IANS)
