ALCOR, a US based company has proposed to set up a manufacturing and assembly unit for helicopters in Odisha with an investment of Rs 15,000 crore.
The company has proposed to invest Rs 15,000 crore in the unit and employ around 5, 000 persons within a span of seven years.
“Chief Secretary, Odisha has convened a meeting on October 14 to consider various aspects of the proposal made by the company,” said UC Kar, additional secretary in the General Administration (GA) department.
According to an official in the department, the government is keen to go ahead with the project in the state.
“The meeting will discuss the provision of land to the company for setting up the project. The revenue department and Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation of Odisha limited (IDCO) have been asked to identify suitable land for the proposed project,” said the official.
