Jajpur, Sep 28:
Union Steel secretary G Mohan Kumar on Friday visited several steel units at Kalinga Nagar, considered the steel hub of Odisha.
Kumar, who is scheduled to review the progress of projects with senior state government officials at Bhubaneswar today , made an on-the spot assessment of the progress made Tata Steel, VISA, Jindal and the public sector undertaking Nilachal Ispat Nigam Limited (NINL) at Kalinga Nagar.
During his interaction with the management of different steel units, Kumar sought to collect inputs on the problems faced by them.
“All the problems can be sorted out once the steel plants start production,” Kumar told reporters.
The employees of NINL submitted a memorandum to Kumar demanding merger of their company with the SAIL.
The Steel secretary also visited Odisha government’s proposed steel cluster at Kalinga Nagar.
