Minister of State for Railways Manoj Sinha today reviewed various projects and works undertaken by East Coast Railways in Odisha at a meeting held at Rail Sadan here.
During his one-day visit to Odisha, Sinha visited the East Coast Railways headquarters here and reviewed the progress of Khurda-Bolangir, Angul-Sukinda, Haridaspur-Paradeep and Talcher-Bimlagarh rail projects among others.
“We had an elaborated discussion and reviewed the ongoing railway projects in Odisha. Railways would initiate steps so as to make the state as one of the leading railway networks in the country. We have allocated funds in the Railway budget above the expectations of the state. Odisha is in the list of our priorities and Prime Minister Narendra Modi has special interest towards it,” said Minister of State for Railways Manoj Sinha.
Replying to a query, the Minister said, steps are on to introduce more trains to Odisha.
Union Petroleum Minister Dharmendra Pradhan also accompanied Sinha to the East Coast Railway headquarters.
“We have received good suggestions from industries as well as the state government. We had a discussion on how to accommodate various suggestions on development of railway infrastructure. I hope Railways would allocate adequate funds as per its expectations,” Pradhan said.
Later in the day, Sinha is scheduled to participate in the centenary celebrations of East Coast Railway Mixed Higher Secondary School at Khurda Road, Jatni.
