Of the 12 Odia movies set to release this festive season in Odisha, Apna Haath Jagannath and Aashiq are going to hit the silver screen on the occasion of Ganesh Puja this Friday across the state.
Apna Haath Jagannath is a bilingual movie Directed by Satyma Jha and features debutant Upasana and Rudra in lead roles. Shot in exotic locales across Odisha, the production house hopes that the movie would be accepted by the moviegoers.
The other movie- Aashiq has been directed by renowned filmmaker Sudhakar Basant who has already directed many hit movies. It stars Sambit, Koyal and Papu Pampam. Papu’s comic performance would be a big draw for the crowd.
Apart from these two, there are another three movies: ‘Mo Dil Kahe Ilu Ilu’, ‘Bindaas Romeo’ and ‘Kehi Nunhe Kahara’ are waiting to be released later this month.
There are few other big banner and big budget movies waiting to be released next month including ‘Bhala Pae Tote 100 ru 100’ directed by Sudhanshu Sahu and starring Babushan and Sheetal, ‘Kehi Nuneh Kahara’ directed by Sushant Mani and starring Elli, Abhishek and Sidhant and ‘Rangila Baba’ directed by Sanjay Nayak and starring Kuna Tripathy and Sonika Roy.
Based on the story of tainted godman Sarathi and others, the shooting of ‘Rangila Baba’ is on schedule.
Besides, there are many other movies such as ‘Joker’, ‘Tu Kahibu Na Mun’, ‘Chup Chap Chori Chori’, ‘Akhi Bujidele Tu’, ‘Chandrabhaga’, ‘Hello’ and ‘Godfather’ that are waiting to be released during the festival season.
