Two man were arrested here with fake currency of face value of Rs.1.1 lakh, police said Thursday.
On a tip-off, police arrested Munna Singh, 30, and Vinod Singh, 36, from Delhi’s Anand Vihar Railway Station Wednesday.
“We have recovered Rs.1.1 lakh in Rs.500 denomination counterfeit Indian currency from their possession,” a senior police official said.
He added that Vinod, a garment vendor, had suffered heavy losses in his business. He had borrowed money at a high interest rate and could not pay it back in time.
