Two Maoists surrender in Odisha’s Angul


Angul: Two red rebels including a woman Maoist surrendered before police here this morning after combing operations intensified in Left Wing Extremism (LWE) areas in Odisha.

The two identified as Sukuram Purti alias Gulshan (18) and Khusboo Zarari (17) both from Jharkhand surrendered before Angul SP.

Both Gulshan and Khusboo were working as 303 rifle cadres in SDS division of banned CPI Maoist outfit since 2012.

After security forces intensified anti-Maoist operations, the two rebels were changing their locations. Finally, they decided to give in to police to join the mainstream and to begin a normal life.
