Bhubaneswar, Oct 11:
Railway Protection Force (RPF) today rescued two 11-year-old girls hailing from Nabarangpur from platform number-2 of Bhubaneswar railway station.
RPF officials said some unidentified miscreants had kidnapped the girls two days ago and were bringing them to Bhubaneswar on the Hirakhand Express today.
The kidnappers, however, managed to escape during checking at the platform. The girls were in sixth standard and had boarded the train from Jeypore (Umri) Railway Station in Koraput district.
Quoting information provided by the girls during questioning, the RPF officer said they were brought from their native place by some unknown miscreants putting black masks on their head.
On getting information from the Jeypore RPF staff, who in turn had been informed about the missing of two girls and their attires by their parents, the Bhubaneswar RPF personnel rescued the two minor girls identifying them from the clothes they were wearing.
Later, the RPF officials handed two minors to the Government Railways Police (GRP), Bhubaneswar who in turn handed them over to their uncle staying in the city.
A case has been registered in connection with the incident and investigation is on to find out the persons who had kidnapped the minors.
