Two electrocuted in Odisha’s Balasore

Two workers were killed after they came in contact with a live wire while putting up a hoarding for an event in Odisha’s Balasore town today.

The deceased have been identified as Seikh Arsad Alli and Seikh Rajan from Sunhat area.

According to reports, the duo engaged as contractual workers was putting up a hoarding near ITI ground here for an exhibition scheduled to begin today.

While placing the hoarding, the two workers came in contact with the 11 KV live wire after which they fell on the ground unconscious.

They were rushed to Balasore district headquarters hospital where doctors declared them dead on arrival.

Following the incident, tension prevailed in the area as other workers of the company boycotted work and demanded adequate compensation to the deceased.
