Dr. Achyuta Samanta, Founder, KIIT & KISS has been conferred Honorary D. Litt. awards from Daffodil International University, Bangladesh and International University of Kyrgyzstan respectively, a KIIT press release said.
Dr. Samanta has received D. Litt., the highest degree of the Daffodil International University, from Mr. Nurul Islam Nahid, Hon’ble Education Minister of Bangladesh at the 4th convocation of the university on 6th March 2014. The honour was conferred to him on due recommendations of the President and Prime Minister of Bangladesh. It is the first time in the history of Bangladesh that honorary D.Litt. degree was conferred, an event widely covered by the country’s media, the release said.
He also received the Honorary D. Litt. from International University of Kyrgyzstan on 11th March 2014. In Kyrgyzstan also, the head of the country approves the resolution to confer Honorary D.Litt. degree. The honours were conferred on Dr. Samanta for his selfless and dedicated contribution towards the society, particularly in the field of education.
Dr. Samanta has received more than ten Honorary Degrees of Doctorate from National, International and Indian Central Universities. Besides he has also got two prestigious awards from The Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India (ASSOCHAM), India’s premier apex chamber, and National Book Trust (NBT) in Delhi Book Fair respectively.
