Odisha police today arrested two bootleggers on charges of illegal liquor trading and seized 14 litres foreign liquor from their possession in Jagatsinghpur district.


The arrested, identified as Batakrushna Jena and Sricharan Mohanty, were trading at Gangadahat under Naugoan block in the district.

According to reports, police had failed to curb illegal liquor trading in the area after conduction of repeated raids triggering public anger.

Today Naugoan police station’s new officer in charge (OIC) Sarbeswar Behera and ASI SK Bal conducted a surprise raid with force and nabbed the two.
