Truck carrying ‘Titli’ relief materials overturns in Odisha, 3 dead

Paralakhemundi: In a tragic incident, as many as three persons were killed after a truck carrying relief materials for cyclone ‘Titli’-affected people fell off Badapur ghat road and turned turtle in Odisha’s Gajapati district today.

The deceased have been identified as Narayan Rao of Srikakulam, the driver of the truck, Rama Rao, the truck owner and Malaya Tripathy of Bhawanipatna.

The ill-fated vehicle was on the way to R Udayagiri from Paralakhemundi when the driver lost control over the wheels, as a result of which the truck fell down from the ghat and overturned killing the trio on the spot.

On being informed, police and Fire personnel reached the spot and recovered the bodies. The relief materials, including blankets, got littered around the spot after the accident.
