The Odisha government is all set to showcase its products, including textiles, handlooms and tourism, at the 33rd India International Trade Fair (IITF) scheduled to be held at the national capital from November 14 to 27.
The state government has formed a committee to identify the products to be showcased in the trade fair, which is expected to draw huge crowds and business.
Organized by India Trade Promotion Organization (ITPO), the Indian Government’s nodal trade promotional agency, the trade fair has proved to be a major crowd puller for consumers as well as traders, manufacturers, exporters and importers.
The trade fair aims at providing a platform for Indian manufacturers and traders to showcase their products. It also works as an excellent means of showcasing India’s technological advancement and industrial progress.
Energy, Agriculture, Tourism, Industries, Information & Public Relations, Employment, Technical Education & Training departments are likely to participate in a big way in the trade fair on behalf of the Odisha government. Besides, artisan units of silver filigree, Patta painting, Dhokra, stone carving and handloom products, including apparels, will be showcased in the fair to attract the crowd, said a senior official of Industry department dealing with the issue.
Reputed corporate houses, namely Tata Steel, NALCO, Jindal Stainless are likely to participate with their success stories.
The tourism section will have pride of place in the trade fair with places of tourist interest in the state being highlighted through hoardings, brochures and handouts. The Buddhist circuit would be a majpr focus of the tourist pavilion, said an official of the Tourism department.
