Commissionerate Police today arrested a top official of private air carrier Air Odisha from here on charges of harassing and threatening to kill his wife.
Chandrasekhar police station today picked up the Director (Corporate Affairs) of Air Odisha Trideeb Rout from the Biju Patnaik International Airport (BPIA) based on an FIR filed by his wife.
“He has been harassing me and threatening to kill me. The man should be punished. He has ruined my life. He should face the law for his offence,” Rout’s wife said.
The accused was arrested under Section 498 and 506 of IPC. The complainant had lodged a complaint with the Chandrasekharpur police two days ago.
Notably, the accused had moved court seeking anticipatory bail. The arrest comes on a day when the chartered air service provider started its flight service to four destinations in the state. The formal inauguration programme was held at the city airport today where Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik flagged off the service in the presence of several dignitaries.
Later Rout was released on bail. The SDJM court here granted bail to Rout on furnishing of a bail bond of Rs 60,000.
