Bhubaneswar, June 25:
In view of Odisha bandh call given by the Congress for tomorrow, security will be tightened in the Twin City of Cuttack and Bhubaneswar, informed Commissioner of Police RP Sharma here today.
A total of 30 platoons of policemen will be deployed in the Twin City for maintaining law and order in view of the shut down call given by the Congress, said Sharma.
While security for the Chief Minister’s carcade and residence has been increased, two platoons of policemen will be guarding Law Minister Arun Sahu’s residence and the road to it will be sealed, he added.
Security will be also tightened around the residences of Food Supplies & Consumer Welfare Minister Sanjay Das Burma and Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) chief administrator Suresh Chandra Mohapatra, said sources in the police.
The Congress has called for a state-wide dawn to dusk bandh call to protest against the mess/irregularities committed during the Brahma Parivartan ritual of Lord Jagannath and is demanding a judicial inquiry into the incident.
