Three Odisha boys to participate in Street Dance World Cup

Puri: Three youths from Odisha’s Puri district are all set to represent India in Street Dance World Cup 2017 scheduled to be held in August in Korea.

The participants were Rajendra Mishra’s son Adarsh Mishra of Duttatota, Trinath Sahoo’s son Asutosh Sahoo of Narendrakon and Pabitra Mohanty’s son Bishnu Charan Mohanty of Bali Nolia sahi in pilgrim town.

After earning praise in the national event held in New Delhi in July, the three have been selected in the four-member team to participate in the upcoming dance competition.

As the competition will be held under four categories – Hip Hop, Bboy, Locking & Popping, the Odia guys, who have formed Android Crew dance group, are practising to make tadka (Tempering) of Odissi, one of the popular classical dance of Odisha in India, in Hip Hop category.

They hope that the Odissi tadka in Hip Hop category will fetch success for them in the Street Dance World Cup event, which will witness the participants from 23 countries in Korea.

The dance group without mentor is now eying to clinch award in the competition.
