Three killed in road mishap in Odisha

Three persons were killed and three others seriously injured when a Bolero jeep in which they were travelling, collided with a truck from behind near Baladia Bandha on the outskirts of Dhenkanal town this morning.

According to reports, six persons from Kathagada area of Dhenkanal town had gone to Jajpur in a Bolero jeep to attend a marriage ceremony.

However, on their return, the driver of the jeep lost control of vehicle which hit a truck from behind near Baladia Bandha on National Highway-55 under Sadar police station limits killing three persons on the spot.

Following information, a team of police of Gobindpur Outpost rushed to the spot and brought out the injured persons and the bodies of the victims from the vehicle.

The seriously injured were rushed to the district headquarters hospital where their condition was stated to be critical.

The bodies, identified as Sudhakar Panda, his wife Menaka Panda and Nandakishore Roul of Kumbhara Sahi, were later taken for post mortem.
