Berhampur police has detained three miscreants, after a youth was severely beaten up and shot at over alleged past animosity in Phadiripara village under Polsara police limits in Odisha.
The youth has sustained grievous injuries after the three youths beat him up with lathis and then shot him on the back with a pistol.
Police have detained the three suspects, and seized the firearm used in the crime.
The victim, identified as Sushant Nayak, he has injuries in head and shot at the stomach. Nayak has been admitted to Maharaja Krishna Chandra Gajapati Medical College & Hospital, Brahmapur, Ganjam, Odisha (MKCG).
“They came and beat me with a lathi, then both of them held me and Nabo came with the pistol. As I was in front so I tried to run away, but they caught me and he shot at me from the back,” alleged Nayak.
Past enimity is suspected to be the reason for the brutal attack, according to police sources.
