Rourkela, May 21:
Police on Wednesday night arrested three dacoits while they planning to commit dacoity at Sole area under Gurundia police station limits of Bonei sub-division in Odisha’s Sundargarh district and forwarded to the court on Thursday evening.
Police seized two axes from their possession.
Acting on a tip-off, a team of Gurundia police station, led by sub inspector Bikash Swain, went to Sole at around 10.30 PM and arrested the three docaits from an isolated place.
The arrested have been identified as Sushil Ekka (30), Sanjay Lakra (28) and Somra Ekka (25).
The arrested dacoits, during interrogation, confessed that they were planning to loot a shop and some houses at Sole.
“The three docaits have also previous criminal cases in their name in Raghunathpalli and Brahmani Tarang police stations”, Swain said, adding that they were forwarded to the court on Thursday evening,” the SI said.
