Three arrested in minor gang rape case in Odisha

A three year-old-girl child was allegedly gang raped by three boys on Sunday afternoon in Khuntapala village under Udala police station limits.

Police produced the three accused before the court yesterday after their medical check-up.

Shankar Singh aka Munna (19) had come to his friend’s house for a visit. He allegedly called his two minor friends and planned for the heinous crime.

The victim, who lives with her maternal grandfather and mother after her father’s death, was lured by the trio to their house with chocolates. The three then raped the child by turns.

After the girl’s mother came in search of the child, the three ran away.  The mother admitted the heavily bleeding child to the Udala sub-divisional hospital with the help of the villagers.

After the victim’s mother filed a written complaint in the police station the police had arrested the three accused on Monday.

In a similar incident, police have detained three persons for their alleged complicity in the rape of a minor girl, who is in a serious condition, in Sadarbandh area under Raibania police station limits in the district.

According to reports, Sombaria Khan, Sheikh Muna Khan, Sheikh Mairaj and Sheikh Sikandar were doing earth digging work for lift irrigation (LI) point in Mansing Marandi’s field in Dubka Sahi village.

The minor, a class three student of Sevashram school, was allegedly raped by Sombaria after being lured into a hut with promises of money and chocolates.

The girl started heavily bleeding and complained to her family members about the incident.

The victim’s family filed a written complaint in the local police station. Police after recording the statement of the victim admitted to a local hospital in a serious condition. The cops have detained the labourers Muna, Sikandar and Sheikh Mairaj for questioning.

However, the prime accused Sombaria Khan is absconding.
