Third phase Odisha polls: EVM glitches delay polling at several booths

Bhubaneswar: The polling was delayed at several booths across Odisha in third phase elections today due to glitches in Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs).

The technical glitches in EVM were reported from various Assembly constituencies in Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, Nayagarh and Sambalpur.

The EVM malfunction delayed the voting at booth number 118 in Nayapalli, booth 76 at Bhubaneswar North Assembly Constituency, booth number 179, 180, 181, 182 at Jatani Municipality, booth 119 at Athagarh, booth 193, 194, 234 at Siminai in Dhenkanal district in the morning.

Similarly, the gliches were reported at booth number 290 in Ghasipura, booth 290 at Anandapur, booth 255, 243, 221, 245, 212, 213, 261, 238, 239 in Keonjhar, booth 128 and 129 in Banki area in Cuttack district.

The technical error was also found at booth number 78 in Nayagarh district, booth 143 at Taradi, booth 231 at Sasang, booth 128 at Kulagarh, booth number 114 and 115 at Radhagobindapur in Athagarh district, booth 153 and 154 at Patana Udaypur and booth number 73 at Rairakhol NAC.

Kuchinda also reported the glitches in the EVMs at booth number 122, 101, 135 and 145.
