Cuttack: It seems Odisha’s Cuttack city has turned out to be the capital of bomb hurling as the cultural capital of the state has witnessed three bomb hurling incidents in a month.

Panic gripped the busy street of Badambadi area in the city after some unidentified miscreants hurled bombs near Jayashree cinema hall this evening.

Surprisingly, the crime scene is just 100 metre away from Badambadi police station.

Neither anyone was injured nor any loss to property reported in the incident.

The anti-socials came in a motorcycle and fled the spot after committing the crime, reports said.

On being informed, police rushed to the spot and launched a manhunt to nab the criminals.

Sources said the incident is said to be a fall out of the recent decision of Cuttack Private Bus Owners’ Association in respect of doing away with the system of hawker and supervisor from Badambadi bus stand.

Notably, some bike-borne miscreants had hurled bombs at the house of Cuttack Municipal Corporation (CMC) Deputy Mayor Ajay Barik on July 19 evening over the same dispute.

Meanwhile, the residents of the city are terrorised and living in fear after a series of bomb hurling incidents rocked the city.

The frequent incidents have left the local police in a tizzy as such crimes are on the rise especially during the Durga puja celebrations.
