Cuttack, Sep 28:
Tension prevails in the campus of Ravenshaw University in Odisha’s Millennium City as a group of students smashed the windshield of a car belonging to the university’s vice-chancellor today.
The incident is said to be the fallout of a clash between two groups of students in the university campus yesterday night over immersion of Ganesh idols.
Police has detained two students in connection with yesterday night’s clash and is interrogating them. A case has been registered at the Malgodown police station in this connection.
Reportedly, supporters of the detained students demanding withdrawal of cases damaged the vice-chancellor’s vehicle.
While police have been deployed in the campus, efforts are on to restore normalcy, reports said.
