Tender process begins for 17 compost plants in Odisha capital

Bhubaneswar: Expediting measures for waste management in the state capital, the authorities are planning to set up 17 compost plants, which will be functional soon.

In this regard, the tender process has begun yesterday for 17 plants out of total 34 plants in Bhubaneswar for solid waste management.

Sources in Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) said that the project will be completed in 4 months.

According to reports, the authorities have decided to use the land belonging to General Administration (GA) Department, BMC, Bhubaneswar Development Authority (BDA) and Public Health Engineer Organisation (PHEO) in the city to set up the compost plants, which would cost between Rs 38 lakh and Rs 51 lakh each.
