Bhubaneswar: Good news for air passengers, who hesitate to spend money on consuming tea, coffee and snacks at Biju Patnaik International airport in Bhubaneswar due to high cost, as it will be cheaper in next coming days.
The airport authority has invited tender for installation of tea and coffee vending machine at the airport for availability of the items at affordable prices.
Although, the passengers can avail the soft drinks and tea and coffee inside the terminal, the cost is comparatively high. They hesitate to opt for the facility due to expensiveness inside the terminal. However, there is no facility for tea and coffee outside the terminal. The tender has been invited for installing the tea and coffee vending machine both inside and outside the terminal for providing the facility at cheaper rates, said Bhubaneswar airport director Suresh Chandra Hota.
Initially, the tea will be available at Rs 15 per cup, which now costs Rs 50 inside the terminal. The coffee prices will be kept Rs 25 instead of Rs 80.
The green tea will cost Rs 10, lemon tea at Rs 10 and flavour tea at Rs 20, Hota said adding that prices will be fixed for benefiting passengers belonging to all the classes.
