Swine flu toll mounts to 32 in Odisha

Bhubaneswar: The swine flu death toll in Odisha reached 32 with one more person succumbing to the H1N1 virus today, official sources said.

The fresh death reported from SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack.

The deceased, identified as Kartika Behera (48), of Balikuda in Jagatsinghpur district.

With this, ten people were died while undergoing treatment at SCB medical this year, hospital sources informed.

Meanwhile, 12 more people tested positive for H1N1 out of 28 swab samples tested at the Regional Medical and Research Centre (RMRC) today.

So far the total number of positive cases in the State increased to 329, a health department statement said.

Earlier, the state government had issued guidelines to both government and private hospitals for the treatment of swine flu patients. Meanwhile, dengue has also claimed the lives of at least three persons in the state, the sources said.
