Bhubaneswar, June 14:
The southwest monsoon, which entered the state yesterday, advanced further into south Odisha today.
“The southwest monsoon has further advanced into some more parts of south Odisha today and covered Nawarangpur and Koraput districts with some parts of Nuapada, Kalahandi and Rayagada districts,” said a communiqué issued by the Regional Meteorological Centre, Bhubaneswar this afternoon.
The communiqué said the Northern Limit of Monsoon (NLM) now passes through Latitude 21.0° N / Longitude 60°E, Veraval, Surat, Ujjain, Narsingpur, Raipur, Kalingapatnam, Latitude 20° N / Longitude 88°E, Krishnanagar and Darjeeling.
It further said also conditions are favourable for further advance of southwest monsoon into some more parts of north Arabian Sea, Gujarat , remaining parts of coastal Andhra Pradesh, northwest Bay of Bengal and West Bengal, some more parts of Chhattisgarh, Odisha and Madhya Pradesh and some parts of Jharkhand and Bihar during the next three days.
