Eight persons today appeared before the Commission of Inquiry to probe the SUM Hospital fire tragedy and recorded their statements.
While SUM Hospital promoter Manoj Ranjan Nayak and BDA Member (Planning) appeared before the Commission to record their statements at Bhubaneswar, the other six recorded their statements at Cuttack.
In Cuttack four doctors recorded their statements before the Commission –RDC (Central Range) in the first session. Chief Administrative Officer of SUM Hospital and a house surgeon recorded their statements in the second session.
Sources revealed that during the recording of their depositions these persons were asked about certain facts on the day of the incident.
The Commission has served notices to six persons more persons to appear before it on December 29 to record their statements.
According to reliable sources the Commission intends to submit its inquiry report to the government by January 19.
