Stones pelted at PCC chief’s house

A group of angry people pelted stones at the house of Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee (OPCC) president Jayadev Jena here late last night.

According to reports, some youths from Kakatpur arrived at the house of the PCC president late in the night and pelted stones at his house shouting slogans against the indiscriminate distribution of party tickets.

Protesting the decision of the Union minister and the PCC president to allot tickets to Rabi Sethi for Kakatpur Assembly seat, the irate party workers alleged that the prospectsw of the party winning the Kakatpur seat was remote since Sethi has distanced himself from the party for a long time.

The workers demanded allotment of ticket to Biswabhusan Das in place of Sethi.

Over a hundred workers also staged a dharna in front of the house of Union minister Srikant Jena till late last night while protesting biased and indiscriminate distribution of party tickets.
