Bhubaneswar, Nov 5:
In a memorandum to the Planning Commission, the state government has sought an additional Rs 7,769 crore under the schematic assistance scheme for medium term reconstruction activities to be carried out in areas hit by Cyclone Phailin and subsequent floods, official sources said on Tuesday.
Departmental sources said the government submitted the medium term plan prepared under the supervision of Development Commissioner Injeti Srinivas to the Planning Commission on Monday.
This is the third memorandum of the state government after the cyclone and floods. It had earlier sought Rs 4242.41 crore towards damages due to cyclone and another Rs 1590 crore for floods from the National Disaster Relief Fund.
The state has so far sought Rs 13,601.41 crore towards damages in the twin calamities.
