Odisha beat Assam by five wickets in the Senior Men’s 50-over One-Day East Zone Inter State League Cricket Tournament at Kalyani in West Bengal today.
Put in to bat, Assam were was bundled out for 103 runs in 44.3 overs.
Barring Dheeraj Jadhav (29), KB Arun Karthik (10) and Pritam Das (12), the remaining batsmen failed to get double figure.
For Odisha, Basant Mohanty and Deepak Behera shared three wickets each while Paresh Patel claimed two. Suryakanta Pradhan and Arabinda Singh got one wicket each.
In reply, Odisha began confidently with Paresh Patel and Biswaswarup Pati putting up 55 runs for the first wicket before Pati got out for 26.
Though Odisha lost three quick wickets of Natraj Behera (4), Govind Poddar (4)and Biplab Samantray (3), Anurag Sarangi scored a quick-fire 22 off 30 balls and guided his team to a comfortable 5-wicket win in 23.2 overs.
For Assam, Pritam Das was the most successful bowler claming 4 for 26 while Krishan Das bagged one wicket for 23 runs.
